Westover Market is one of the best local grocery stores you could ever hope to have in your neighborhood. Its shelves are lined with local organic produce and a great selection of specialty items. Westover Market has a beer garden outside and a Great Wall of Beers inside featuring over 1,000 beers. The market also has a butcher shop for locally-reared hormone-free meat. Westover Market even hosts regular live music performances. The Italian Store is another fantastic North Arlington go-to for groceries with locations in Westover and Lyon Village. As the name suggests, this store specializes in imported Italian foodstuffs. The Italian Store has an impressive selection of Italian wines and cheeses along with a deli counter serving delicious New York-style pizzas, subs, and sandwiches. The Lee Harrison Shopping Centre has a Harris Teeter food market and pharmacy alongside a range of restaurants and services. Peter Chang at the Lee Harrison Shopping Centre serves flavorful Sichuan cuisine. The restaurant is run by and named after a former Chinese Embassy chef known for his fiery sauces and creative cooking techniques. Lee Heights Shops offers more restaurants, retailers, and services. Unique stores here include kids’ books and toys shop Child’s Play and clothing and home goods boutique Lemoncello. Dining highlights at Lee Heights Shops include charcuterie platters paired with wine or craft beer at Arrowine & Cheese, exquisite French bistro dishes at Café Colline, mouthwatering charbroiled chicken at Crisp & Juicy, and tasty French and Italian cakes and baked good at Pastries by Randolph.

Things to Do

Westover Farmers Market takes place every Sunday morning all year-round. All produce on sale is grown within 125 miles of the farmers’ market and there are vendors selling specialties such as authentic Lebanese street food and homemade ice cream. Gulf Branch Nature Center & Park offers beautiful natural scenery amid the greenery surrounding the Gulf Branch stream. Features of the park and nature center include exhibition rooms, a Discovery Room, pollinator garden, workshops, demonstrations at the Blacksmiths Guild of Potomac, and a restored historic log cabin. Special classes at the nature center cover topics such as natural science and local history.
