Things to Do

McLean Day in May is a big community celebration that attracts more than 10,000 attendees. The event’s fun and free activities include balloon animals, bubble balls, laser tag, a petting zoo, and a rock-climbing wall. There are ticketed carnival rides and stages with free live performances. Community green spaces in McLean include the two-acre Clemyjontri Park, which has a carousel, a trackless train, and a massive playground specially designed to accommodate children with disabilities. The Alden Theatre is a 383-seat performing arts venue that regularly programs a variety of shows and concerts. The lineup at the Alden includes top touring musical and comedy acts in addition to children’s entertainers, dance groups, film screenings, expert lectures, and theatrical performances from the McClean Community Players.
